Fair Trade Traditional Wooden Elephant Stacker Toy - Best Years

The idea for an elephant stacker toy came from Best Years' fair producer in Sri Lanka, because elephants hold huge significance in the country, both culturally and economically. 

They're known as  Thunpath Rena elephant toys - Thunpath Rena is the name for the family unit that looks after each baby elephant. This comprises the mother, the baby and another adult female elephant normally the mother’s sister. This trio bond together and the calf is nurtured and protected within this trio.

These stacker toys are handmade from sustainably sourced wood. The wood used is a by-product of tea farming - now given new life as a wooden toy.

Designed to encourage open play, they are ideal for imaginative play and also for stacking and balancing. Children learn through play and these wooden toys can help children to develop their manual dexterity.

Best Years are a toy manufacturer based in the UK who specialise in ethical sourcing of toys. Please note. These elephants are handmade so they may have natural variations and may not have the uniformity of factory produced wooden elephants. They may not sit completely flat and there may be slight gaps between them but this only adds to their charm. Because they are natural products there may be small fluctuations in the grain meaning the surface may have a variability in texture (don't worry, it's CE/UKCA tested and is smooth enough for little hands) - The elephants are also hand painted with non-toxic paints rather than spray painted.
